Rent Boats From Boat Owners. Worldwide.

GetMyBoat enables the peer-to-peer boat rental marketplace and is changing the way the world goes boating. Launched in San Francisco January 2013, GetMyBoat empowers owners of every type of boat, from kayaks to sailboats to motorboats, to post their watercraft for rent or charter for free. Anywhere in the world, from California to Croatia, our users search, find, and book a boat they would like to rent. To keep everyone covered during the rental, GetMyBoat has partnered with Falvey Yacht Insurance to provide Global Boat Rental Insurance for as low as $40 a day.

Our mission is to open up the world of boating for both renters and owners. Boating enthusiasts get the benefits of worldwide inventory without the cost or headache of ownership. And as the average boat is only used 8% of the year, boat owners get the chance to make owning a boat more affordable by earning some income from their under-utilized asset.

Our Story

GetMyBoat began when serial entrepreneurs and co-founders Sascha Mornell and Rafael Collado were out on the water. They asked themselves, “How can more people gain access to great boating experiences for less?” With a few years later and with the emergence of the sharing economy, Sascha and Rafael brought GetMyBoat to life.

Originally founded as a boat rental marketplace, GetMyBoat has grown to offer every type of on-the-water experience – from whale watching tours and eco kayaking trips to houseboat rentals and private sailing lessons. Our goal is to help people of every age, background, and budget to experience everything the water has to offer in a fun, safe way.

We aim to enrich lives with meaningful experiences and joy. Our mascot, Joy the Dolphin, embodies the playfulness and fun that being near and on the water offers. Joy also represents our focus on being a champion to protect and defend the marine environment.
